Ontario Winter Games (February 2024):  Congratulations to the athletes that represented TDBA at the Ontario Winter Games this year held in Thunder Bay. TDBA's OWG team consisted of:  Chloe Lee, Chloe Mak, Fulgencia Simmons Zhang, Karen Ki, Paula Guo, Sydney Yeung, Bosco Lai, Bryan Kim, Ethan Wang, Ferdinand Simmons Zhang, Ryan Qi and Shaurya Gullaiya. It was a tough fought final against YDBA and very close in the end. TDBA was down 3-1 matches but caught up to tie it 3-3. The last match lasted 3 games and unfortunately TDBA lost 21-18 in the third game. What a great effort! The coach and manager are very proud of your silver medals! 

The TDBA board would also like to thank the support from the parents and of course Coach Keke and Manager Michelle for taking great care of the athletes and giving them memories to last a lifetime. Check out the pictures below from the Ontario Winter Games.

TDBA 2023-24 Affiliation:  Welcome to a new season!

 

I just wanted to let you know that Badminton Ontario has changed their membership platform this year and has eliminated playerweb.

 

TDBA's affiliation form for this season which is valid from September 1, 2023 - August 31, 2024. If you wish to affiliate, please fill it out completely and email it back to me. You can find payment information at the top of the form. I will inform Badminton Ontario of your affiliation once I have received the completed form along with payment.

 

Here are the steps clubs need to do in order to affiliate.

 

The club affiliates with TDBA for $75.00.

Then the club affiliates with Badminton Ontario 2 ways:

1. as an insured club (general commercial liability for the club & sports accident for the individual), the club pays $7.00/individual

2. as an affiliated club (no insurance): flat rate depending on the number of players the club has (e.g., 0-50 members $50, 51-100 members $150, etc.)

 

The individuals who play in tournaments then need to purchase a BON membership on their own. Please see BON's website for more details. https://www.badmintonontario.ca/membership/
